The Monnett Breeze

Jane Lord gave a copy of The Monnett Breeze from April, 1929 to the museum.  This is the first newsletter from the Monnett School for Girls that we have ever seen.  Since many residents of Rensselaer have family members who attended this school, we are wondering if any of you have copies of other issues of this school newsletter.

We have assembled an index of people associated with the Monnett School for Girls and names from this newsletter resulted in the addition of an additional fifty names.  The names include students, teachers, school administrators, trustees, and various other workers.

If you have any issues of the newsletter,  please let us scan them so we can expand our index.  Contact Jasper County Genealogist Sue Caldwell at 219-866-7739.
